Chilling at Starbucks
…with my new roommate Lauren! Trying to take advantage of the air conditioning here lol hopefully we get to chat and better know each other. Today was a boring and frustrating day at work. Boss is in Turkey apparently? Lucky him! Too bad I’m like clueless about my project and presentation haha. Hope my meeting tomorrow goes well!

Philly
Chilling in Philly with Danielle and Terry. Glad I made the trip! Danielle cooked a lot of food for me, which was super nice. It made me wish I had a kitchen even more, but it’s okay. Saw their new loft! It’s definitely a nicer living arrangement than where I live haha the kitchen, ac, and washer/dryer makes it kind of a no brainer. Although… Jenny is lame for leaving so much...

So Hot
Don’t want to go home after work because it’s so hot. Ate so much Chinese food for dinner lol and now reading quamut guides at Barnes & Noble. Called mom… Hopefully will buy tickets home by tonight! Craving some chocolate.

Finally used some nyu dining dollars
Breakfast lunch and dinner today should be taken care of! Lol a bunch of baked chips, fruit, cereal, and sandwiches… Interesting combo. Much more prefer the food I had in Chinatown last night. Another day to get through. Still need to decide when to go home with mom, need to call her later today. Really enjoyed skyping with Chelsea, Udani, Pooja, and Manika last night haha kind of crazy to...

Drake Pt. 2
Davin and I tried again to go to a free concert last night and it was cancelled because of rioting and safety issues… Crazy. It was on the news this morning and the footage of the rioting was pretty intense. Lol will we ever successfully see a concert? Hopefully. Ended up eating Thai food and going home, but at least I got to see the Seaport area and financial district… Called my...

The other interns at work found out my birthday’s tomorrow so we’re having a little party after lunch? Maybe? I’m not even sure and everyone is saying oh it’s for another “Terri”… Uh huh. So we’ll see about that lol. Hope it’s not embarassing.

First Gym Class
Cycling class was taught by a guy 3x my size width-wise, and he didn’t do half the workout. Lol. Um interesting? Good news was that the showers were nice. Perfect water pressure and temperature!

NYC 4 - Last Night
I was lost in NYC. Really scary. Ate yummy noodles. Failed to see Norah Jones, but I can now officially say I’ve been to Brooklyn. Watched more Modern Family. Hilarious. Got more assignments at work. Had a meeting with supervisor and database guy. Kept hitting supervisors pen.

NYC 3 - Exhausted
Long day. Lots of work and meetings. Lunch with the Business Cycle Indicators team and my supervisor. Kind of intimidating, but I think we had a few good conversations. Oh, we had a reception with really good thin mint cookies. That was nice of them. After work, a couple of interns and I went to Museum Mile, which allowed anybody to go into the museums along 5th avenue for free. Awesome. Lots of...

Times Square Yoga

NYC 2 - First Day At Work
The Conference Board is very well organized and welcoming of their interns, that’s for sure. The fellowship started off well with a group orientation. Got my email, telephone, and access stuff all set up. I like my desk (near my supervisor but I still have some privacy), and people walk by to say hello, which is nice. Cupcake social in the middle of the day was nice and got to know a few...

NYC - Day 1
Arrived at jfk. Redeye flight was exhausting especially with crying babies behind me. Cabbed, but was pulled over within two minutes for a red light violation. Thought we were in a lot of trouble and caused a delay, but it was okay in the end. The driver made sure not to get a speeding violation on top of that lol. Did you know speed limits are usually 50 mph here? 65 is speeding? New...

NYTimes Article
“There’s a neurologist in Boston, Gottfried Schlaug, who uses music therapy to return some language to stroke victims. He has them learn simple phrases by singing them. This has proved more effective than having them repeat spoken phrases, the traditional therapy. Schlaug’s work suggests that when the language part of the brain has been damaged, you can sometimes recruit the part that...
